135% profit increase by Şekerbank

The net profit of Şekerbank for the year 2007 reached TRY 122 million 861 thousand by increasing in the ratio of 135 percent. The bank increased the size of its assets to TRY 6 billion 88 million 402 thousand in the year 2007 by achieving 81 percent increase in the loans.

Şekerbank that increased its capital by 220 percent in the year 2007 thus achieved 98 percent increase compared to the previous year by raising its equities to TRY 864 million 789 thousand.

Besides, the bank has been included in the ISE Corporate Governance Index as of March 4, 2008 as the first bank in Turkey receiving "Corporate Governance Assessment Score".

In the year 2007, the loans of the bank reached TRY 3 billion 614 million 433 thousand in total by increasing in the ratio of 81 percent while the size of its assets reached TRY 6 billion 88 million 402 thousand. The deposits volume of the bank reached TRY 4 billion 155 million 66 thousand by increasing by 36 percent compared to the last year. The interest incomes, on the other hand, reached TRY 914 million 782 thousand by increasing by 71 percent compared to the last year.

Stating that Şekerbank outgrew the sector in the year 2007, Şekerbank T.A.Ş. Executive President Meriç Uluşahin said, "We have achieved this year the best results of our history of 55 years. In the loan and deposit growth ratios, we have exceeded the sector averages considerably this year. This achievement is a result of our strategic business plan we put into practice last year on the basis of the "Anatolian Banking" main theme. In the year 2010, we will join the top 10 private banks of Turkey as the leader of Anatolia."
