Şekerbank makes net profit of TL 29 million in first 3 months

Having announced its solo financial results of 31/03/2015, Şekerbank T.A.Ş. made a net profit of TL 29.3 million in the first three months of the year. Şekerbank, which increased its net profit by 90 percent y-o-y as of the end of Q1, provided almost 7,500 farmer families with loans in the first three months of this year alone.

Şekerbank T.A.Ş. have announced its solo financial statements of 31/03/2015. Accordingly, Şekerbank made a net profit of TL 29.3 million in the first quarter of the year. 

Total credit volume of Şekerbank has risen to TL 15 billion as of 31/03/2015 while its total assets have reached TL 21.5 billion with 11 percent annual rise. 

A deposit growth faster than loans in the first three months since the new year's day has enabled Şekerbank to increase its total deposits volume to TL 13.9 billion, while its equities rose to TL 2.4 billion with 16 percent annual growth as of the end of the first quarter.

Halit Yıldız: “We supported almost 7,500 farmer families in the first three months”

Talking about the Bank's Q1 results, Şekerbank T.A.Ş. General Manager Halit Yıldız, said that as a bank established 62 years ago with small savings of hundreds of thousands of farmers and entrepreneurs in Anatolia, their objective was still to provide the farmers and entrepreneurs with appropriate funds so that the local production can increase. “We are companion of the farmers and tradesmen. Within the scope of the ‘Family Farming Banking’, which we started at the end of last year, we have visited villages since the beginning of the year so that our farmers do not leave their lands, villages, so that the production continues. We grew by 12 percent in the agricultural credits segment in Q1 this year by outperforming the sector considerably. We supported production by financing almost 7,500 farmer families everywhere in Turkey in the first three months of this year alone”, said Yıldız.
